Hudson Project Plus students
celebrated International Dot Day September 15ish, 2015. Classrooms all over the
world participated by doing dot activities The students read the book The
Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and engaged in many activities that involved
dots. Some of the students even dressed in dots for the day by decorating
t-shirts and shoes or finding clothes with dots in the closet at home.
They each used the Elements of Creativity to turn a chalkboard dot into
something with the dot being the focus of the drawing. They listened to
Native Australian Aboriginal music and studied Aboriginal Dot Painting before
creating dot paintings of their own. Domino math challenges, extreme
dot-to-dots, and dot quilt pieces rounded out the day. It was great fun!
