WG Creative Convention Day

Once again Project Plus third grade students participated in Creative Convention Day at Hudson. This year there were new features added, including a "Creativity Expert" and  new music and drama challenges. Kim Baker, Renee Clifton, and Meaghan Barron organized another year of fun and engaging activities for 60 of our students and third graders from Kennard CJA.

Ed Grooms, Fine Arts Coordinator, invited our first "Creativity Expert" to join in the day. Students learned about how  Mick Fumo uses creativity in his daily life as a chef at the restaurant, Cielo in the Four Seasons hotel. Students learned about new vegetables, like carnival cauliflower, and were challenged to play with their veggies to create something new.

We ended the day with lunch at CiCi's Pizza to give our new Kennard CJA and Project Plus friends a chance to get to know each other better. A huge thank you to CiCI's for great food and service. A gentlemen having lunch commented on how kind and respectful our students were.

Kennard  CJA has offered to host Creative Challenge Day next year and make it a full day event.

Bristol Project Plus Students Win First Prize

M. Marshall and N. Fee-Wiley have won first prize in the Mizzou C.O.M.P competition.  They started writing their rap during their passion project time during Project Plus.  Renee Clifton shared it with their music teacher,  Sara Wichard, who entered the rap in  the competition.  The boys created the music using GarageBand and the rest is history….

They are performing live at Mizzou in 2 weeks.   They will hopefully be performing for the school soon.  Here is a link to their song ...
