Mysteries of Ancient Egypt
Project Plus students at Avery
investigated the mysteries of Ancient Egypt. After learning about the
mummification process and the Ancient Egyptian beliefs and attitudes about the
afterlife, 3rd-5th grade students made a
sarcophagus cover. Miss Pey, an Avery Instructional Assistant,
volunteered to be the deceased pharaoh. The students cast her body using
linen plaster strips. 3 hour later, she emerged from the sarcophagus
intact.
