Gifted & Gifted Fine Arts Nominations

Students (grades 1 - 12) may be referred to the Gifted and Talented Program for screening by a teacher, administrator, parent/guardian, or community member familiar with the student.  In grades 7-12, students and peers may also nominate.  Students (grades 2 - 7) may be referred to the Gifted Fine Arts Program for screening by a teacher, administrator, parent/guardian, or community member familiar with the student.

The Webster Groves School District will accept up to two nominations per student no less than one year apart. Typically, students are nominated once at the elementary level and once at the middle school or high school level.

In order to determine if your child would benefit from such gifted programs, data on your child is collected and reviewed.  This data includes a mental abilities test or IQ test. Any IQ testing required for gifted program evaluations will be provided by the Webster Groves School District. We will no longer accept private testing for consideration in the evaluation or appeals process for the gifted program. If you would like more information about any of the nationally normed IQ assessments that we have available, please contact the gifted education office.

Nominations may be submitted any time during the year.  Nomination forms must be completed and returned to the building W.IN.G.S. instructor, gifted specialist or district gifted coordinator by the district-wide deadlines of November 15 (for high school consideration for second semester only) and December 15 (for consideration at any grade level during the current school year).

Nomination forms for the Gifted Fine Arts Program must be completed and returned to the gifted specialist or gifted coordinator by the district-wide deadline of  December 15 of each year. The deadlines will be honored in order to allow adequate time for the screening and evaluation process to take place.

Gifted Resource Council Learning Labs Fall 2015

What is Learning Lab?

Learning Lab is enrichment classes for bright and talented students from pre-school through eighth grade. Classes are held on six Saturday mornings and afternoons twice yearly in the Fall and Winter.

Learning Lab challenges students academically and creatively. Students make new friends while they explore a topic in-depth and/or develop new skills. Class sizes are limited to achieve optimal student/teacher interaction.

Learning Lab has excellent teachers who are chosen for expertise in their area and their skill in working with bright students.
