WGHS Robotics

Congratulations to the Statesbots for their great finish this weekend at Rolla.  They have been incredible in their first two years as a team.  Thanks to Nicholas Kirschman (HS Gifted Specialist) for the support and time provided to the students. Below is some information shared by Jeanette Hencken, who also supports the team.

“The Statebots are a First Tech Challenge (FTC) Team that competes with other FTC teams in USFIRST competitions.  Missouri is one of the most competitive states in the US for this competition.  This year there are 138 FTC teams in Missouri and it is growing.  The Statesbots qualified to compete at the State competition in Rolla this past Saturday and were nominated for the Think Award at the state level.  This year we also won 2 awards at regional competitions: The Connect Award, for community outreach and The Think Award, for the best reflection on the journey we took to get to become a competitive team.  Our first year, last year, we also qualified for state, and came in 26th.  We feel pretty good about these successes and the progress and look forward to the new season which begins next week.”
